Introducing Sequoia House!
A Women’s Sober Living Home
The Sequoia Tree: A Symbol of Strength in Recovery
The sequoia tree, one of the tallest and oldest living beings on earth, is a living metaphor for the journey of women in recovery.
Despite towering heights and massive trunks, sequoias don’t stand alone. Their roots are shallow but wide, spreading out and intertwining with the roots of neighboring trees. This interdependence allows them to withstand storms, fires, and centuries of change. Like women in recovery, their strength lies not in standing alone—but in leaning on a resilient community.
Sequoias also thrive in tough conditions. Their bark is thick, fire-resistant, and even after being scarred by flames, they continue to grow—stronger, wiser, and more enduring. For women healing from addiction and trauma, this mirrors the journey of surviving hardship and choosing to grow anyway.
Just like these majestic trees, women in recovery rise through connection, persistence, and grace, becoming powerful symbols of hope rooted in community.
